Confidentiality & Privacy Policy

The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist (professional counselor), and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.

Exceptions include:

• Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
• If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
• If a client intends to harm himself or herself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety.

Insurance

Chris is in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield,  Ambetter, Magellan and some others and will accept co-pays from subscribers to these plans. Please note that Chris does not participate in Medicare or Medicaid plans at this time.

Late Cancellations

Chris has a 24-hour cancellation policy. Unless there is an unavoidable, unforeseen emergency (eg: illness, car accident, hospitalization, house fire) you will be charged the full fee for the session if you fail to show or cancel with less than 24 hours notice. This includes first appointments. Cancellations for Monday must be received by noon on the preceding Friday.

Please note that no-show and cancellation fees cannot be submitted to insurance or paid for with Flexible or Health Savings Accounts.
